quoted directly from The Lincoln West Neighborhood Association Email Newsletter:
“The beautiful new Biscayne Bay Walk behind the Capri and directly on Biscayne Bay… is finally open!! The City of Miami Beach and the developer Maefield Properties have completed an outstanding addition to our Lincoln West Neighborhood and to the Gilbert Fein District. It is supposed to be open to the public from sunrise to sunset. It is not open to the public in the evenings.
…if you walk on these two blocks of completed bay walk behind the Capri you can feel and see the potential of a continuous bay walk someday hopefully running along the entire western shores of south beach. Along with the new bay walk, there are also completely new streetscapes for Lincoln Terrace and 16thStreet …and the restoration of the historic MiMo apartment building on the bay at 1491 Lincoln Terrace… originally designed by the Architect Igor Polevitsky…This is truly a neighborhood transformed.”
I walk in this area nightly with my dog and they really did do a good job. It’s a very good example of how a project can really reinvent a neighborhood. I spoke with one of the owners of one of the apartment buildings there and he was really happy with the final results.
